Spanish Institute teachers and staff are working to support communities in Venezuela!

February 19, 2015

In this lovely month of February, Spanish Institute is helping out a small community in Venezuela by collecting donations of various items and sending packages of  supplies that go a along way. Today in Venezuela, the costs of basic needs  and the value of the boliviar (Venezuela’s currency) are increasing, which make purchasing groceries or toiletries even harder.

This fundraiser is being put on by one of our fantastic teachers, Neymar, who is a native of Venezuela. This is an important cause for her because her family lives in one of the communitites in need. “The situation over there is getting worse and worse, and I am trying to find a way to help my local community. I will be sending some products to my family soon, but I wish I could help others in the same community because they are in such dire need.” said Neymar regarding the importance of contributing.

To help Neymar promote her project, Spanish Institute  keeping a bin at the front of our school for people to drop off any item to donate such as diapers, deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, toilet paper, soap and many more.
By purchasing these basic products at a local grocery store and dropping them off at our school , your support will  go a long way by helping those who are truly in need!
